We are delighted to report that a number of organizations have already signed on to our Pledge and are committing to work with us. These include –
WTN - World Tourism Network. Its Chairman Juergen Steinmetz said during ITB Berlin “We are proud to join the SUNx “Pledge for The Poorest” who need the most support to respond to the Climate Crisis and will keep their special challenges high on our agenda. We will devote a special day of our TIME SUMMIT in Bali Indonesia in September to discussion on ways in which our members in 139 countries around the world can help make a difference.”
Solimar CEO Chris Seek enthusiastically agreed to bring to the coalition, their global expertise of helping poor countries develop Tourism Master Plans, as well as their good working relationships with Development Agencies.
Low Season Traveller Founder and CEO of SUNx new Climate Friendly Travel Club, Ged Brown, also reached out, noting his recent experience in Tahiti had made him realise the special challenges facing Small Island States, who have a brilliant tourism potential, but whose very existence is at threat from rising sea levels and extreme weather threats brought about by climate change. He underscored the importance of aviation as the only way to reach these States and the absolute imperative of securing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to keep them clean and green.
