Meet the Chapter Leaders

Darcy M Correa
Belize
Darcy Correa, a dedicated professional from Corozal, Belize, has been serving as a Tourism Officer at the Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations since 2017. In his role, Darcy plays a pivotal part in promoting and managing tourism initiatives that highlight Belize's rich cultural and natural heritage. His expertise and passion for the tourism industry are rooted in his previous experience working at the Institute of Archaeology, where he contributed to the preservation and study of Belize's archaeological treasures. Darcy's commitment to enhancing tourism in Belize is evident in his ongoing efforts to develop sustainable tourism practices that benefit both the local community and international visitors. Darcy is one of the SUNx Malta PG Diploma scholarship recipients.
Ashira Rancharan
Belize
Ashira Rancharan is a passionate environmental advocate from Belize, currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management. She has hands-on experience in wildlife rehabilitation, marine conservation, and environmental education, working with various organizations across Belize such as Wild tracks and the University of Belize Environmental Research Institute. Ashira also has a strong interest in sustainable tourism and has contributed to eco-tourism outreach and conservation education in coastal communities. She led the Recycling Trash to Treasure project, which combined waste management, youth engagement, and climate education. As the Climate Friendly Travel Chapter Leader for Belize, she aims to promote low-carbon travel, community inclusion, and environmental responsibility. Ashira is committed to building a more climate-resilient tourism sector through advocacy, youth leadership, and grassroots initiatives.
